147- The Olympic torch was trotted through a very sunny grange town at 6.45am this morning and I felt the need to get up to watch it. I was really impressed to see the number of people on the streets cheering it along.
I’m not a massive sports fan and I’m not sure if I’ll watch much of the Olympics but I suppose it’s the community spirit element that I like. In recent years much of my work has focused on engaging communities and encouraging a local identity. With plans for the next stage of Communities First across Wales, it was fascinating to see hundreds of residents all cheering on local individuals carrying the torch, not for the forthcoming games but for the individual achievement and for a bit of local pride.

It might have been a different experience if it were not for the gorgeous weather but the brief experience shared with people living around me made me feel a bit more positive about the neighbourhood and about things in general

146- kelloggs have rebranded some of their cereals with original retro images to celebrate the jubilee. They’re grrreeat!

145- during my trip to Bristol with Christie we found time to visit Za Za Bazaar, apparently the Uk’s largest restaurant seating over 1000 people! Since starting slimming world, I have been thinking more about my relationship with food. There was a time when I’d always look for a buffet and make sure I got my moneys worth but recently I have been asking whether I need to eat that much.

My visit to za za bazaar was my first since this realisation and with such a massive selection it was quite the challenge! I made sure I tasted what I wanted but I kept my eye on the healthy options and I left before I felt like I was going to explode which is a first!

143- ive been playing around with some designs based on yusufs eye recently as a logo for his littleboyblush youtube channel. After getting a bit excited with deals on vista print we have today recieved an impressive selection of merchandise! There are bags and tshirts too!

142. Another slimming world weigh in and I put on 1.5pounds. I know I’ve not been great this week but Im still gutted. Hopefully this sadness gives me more encouragement to be good this week!
My clothes are feeling baggy now and that is brilliant but I still have a long way to go and I need to keep my foot on the gas…

141- I borrowed the first three Percy Jackson books off my sister last week and have devoured the first two this weekend!
They are very similar in style to Harry Potter but are ultimately a modern retelling of stories from greek mythology! I have been reading with my ipad on my lap so I can google characters and stories from greek mythology and keep up to date on the book!

140- I took edward for our usual barrage walk while Arthur recuperated and we passed the new Dr who exhibit. Its still a few weeks off completion but they have built a nifty photo op which may get overused in coming years…. Remember, I got there first!

139- last night we had some friends over for dinner. After an emotional few days with arthur it was lovely to just relax in good company with lots of good food and great wine.

There is always a power struggle for control of the music but I put together a comprehensive playlist including the new emilie sande album as well as some older stuff and I recieved some lovely comments
